When discussing the differences between a clincher and a tubular-style wheelset, wise men say that to every thing there is a time and a purpose. The wisdom may come with knowing when and where to use either.

Basically, when looking at a clincher tire, this tire is fastened to the wheel rim using the pressure of air, pneumatically sealing the tire against the wheel frame, hence the name "clincher". The clincher tire has a totally separate tube within the tire. Drag radials which are used on the top fuel cars are an example of clincher wheels, these tires being the largest clincher tires in the world at the moment.

Fueler teams have known for many years that for ease of maintenance and safety at high speed, it's difficult to beat a tube that is independent of the tread. The main reason that passenger car tires do not have separate inset tubes is that in sustained high-speed, heavy-usage applications, a separate tube can rub on the inside of the outer tire, creating friction and heat-softening the rubber. Bicycles don't have this problem as they typically run at much higher air pressure, and have a great deal less load to bear than a passenger car does.

On the other hand a normal car has a tubular type tire where the outside tire tread is an integral component to the air chamber of a tire. The differences between a car tire and a bikes tubular tire is that the bicycle tire is actually glued to the rim of the wheel whereas a car tire is held in place using the same technique as a clincher wheel. In past years the performance cyclist had only the tubular tire as a viable option but recently with the progress in the technology of wheels and tires, coupled with the approval in the racing market, the clincher wheel has become the main tire choice in bike racing today.

Reduced weight is the only real advantage of tubular wheels over clincher wheels because this type of tire does not require a thick rim to enable the seal. However, racing cyclists today are happy to use a clincher wheel made of a light alloy and composite material because of the ease of maintenance and greater reliabilty even though there is a small weight difference.

I am really happy with my buy of Diamondback Wildwood Deluxe Bike. I was looking for bicycle I could use riding to my working place. I like the classic forms of regular road bikes with stable, reliable gears mechanism so I can ride hills or trails. Super bike and this is a spectacular price. I saved lots of money on gas, and feeling healthier too! I bought the Diamondback Wildwood Deluxe and it works ideal for me.

As a bike rider for years I wanted a hop on bike mostly for when I wanted a relaxed bike to ride neighborhood paths & quick trips to the local store. The Diamondback Deluxe gave me all that plus great handling, so comfortable & fun I look for excuses to jump on & ride it. I've never had a more comfortable ride.

Diamondback Wildwood Deluxe Bike is on the top of the line comfort bikes. The trigger shifters are a nice advantage over the handgrip shifters on cheaper models, as well as the frame, derailleurs, and all other components. Fundamentally this bicycle is selling for what the whole steel model works for, and is much better then it.

As long as it is gathered and tuned by a professional mechanic this will be super for leisure rides. Diamondback Wildwood Deluxe Bike is a greatest bicycle I have ever had, no question. Besides it was a super deal with free transportation.

I enjoy riding this bike. The seat was a little squeaky, but after I lubed the springs the noise went away. It was easy to assemble. Overall I highly recommend this bike to anyone that will be using the bike in just a casual ride for fun or exercise.

Regardless of if you are interested in upgrading an old bicycle or building a new one to ride, it can be useful to know where to find bicycle frames. There are a lot of ways that you can find and buy these frames for a decent price. Try some of the following options to help you find a good frame quickly.

If you do not have an issue with spending your money on the frame, you can find many frames online. There are numerous sites where you can find and purchase quality frames. Depending on the sites that you choose to look at, the frames can be reasonable or expensive. If you look at sites that focus on custom frames, you are more likely to run into the expensive type.

Consider checking out an auction site. Many people auction off their old bicycles here or even their old frames when they do not feel like using them anymore. Many times you will be able to find a bargain this way. It can be a great way to get a really good frame for a reasonable price. The key is to keep your attention set on a good auction when you find it.

Another option is to look at sporting good and bicycle shops in the area. There will be many frames here for you to choose from. If you have a decent budget, you won't have to worry about the price of the frame itself. You can just buy it and begin your work. However, if you do have to keep your budget in mind, consider the sales. These can be an option to get a good frame for a fraction of the cost.

Check out some consignment stores or second hand shops. These types of stores sometimes get bikes and frames for sale. You can get them for a really cheap price here. However, this is an option to consider if you are just looking for a very general type of frame and you don't mind doing a lot of work on it yourself. It is not the best option for getting a high quality frame.

Some people have even been known to go to the junk yard to find a frame for their bicycle. It is true that often many items that are still in good condition are thrown away and end up in these junk yards. However, this is not to say that you should go to one. Junk yards can at times be very dangerous if you are not permitted inside or if you do not know what you are doing.

If you have friends that are avid in biking, consider asking them about where to get frames. They may be able to give you some recommendations. They may also know some stores in the town that you did not previously consider. If they are interested in custom work, you may also have found someone to work on your bike with after you have found a frame.

As you can see, there are many ways to find bicycle frames. These options should encourage you on your search. If you continue to look, you should have some luck. Hopefully you might even find a great frame for a discounted price.

Whether you are wanting to upgrade an old bicycle or custom build a new one of your own, it will be essential to know where to find bicycle frames. We've got the inside scoop on the best bicycle frame for your bike.

My son has decided he wants a youth dirt bike so I have been doing some research. There are a few things you should look at when you are deciding what to buy. I have put together a basic guide to help anyone else who is looking for a youth dirt bike for their kids. I have found a couple I know my son will love and I am sure yours would to; let's take a look together.

If you are like me then one of the first things you will want to look at is safety. Safety features will play a big part in the dirt bike decision making process. If I buy anything with motor and wheels for my child I need to know they will be as safe as possible.

One of the biggest things in safety is a good helmet. It may not sound like much and they are not part of the actual bike but you can't forget about these. In most areas they are required by law and they can help to reduce the risk of head injuries in the event of an accident. You may be tempted to get the cheapest helmet available but you need one that is sturdy and can take a hard hit if it is needed.

Other safety features on the bikes to look for are kill switches and large brakes for quick stops. The kill switch can prevent a child from being dragged behind the bike if they fall off and other serious injuries. Of course it has the added benefit of stopping the bike to prevent damage to the bike itself in case of an accident. The brakes help to prevent the accident from occurring in the first place and should be kept in top working condition.

The next thing you will want to look at is the speed of the dirt bikes. You should find one that has a top speed you can feel comfortable with and still make your child happy. We all know that they would love the fastest one available but this could also lead to much more serious injuries.

Next you want to look at the size of the bike and the maximum weight it will hold. You want a bike that is small enough for your child to handle without problems but large enough that he or she won't have a problem riding it. This means looking at seat height and weight limits. You want one that your child can sit comfortable on and hole more than their weight.

Another thing that should be considered is where you child will be riding the bike. Most of these are not street legal so they need a safe place to use this bike. I know price is a big factor for most but I feel I have to recommend buying these from a dealer and buying new models. These are less likely to malfunction and cause potential accidents.

A youth dirtbike might be wonderful for some children but you should also consider if your child is mature enough to follow rules and ride safely. Check out all of your options carefully and read all owners manuals. Remember safety should always be your first priority.

Find a Dirt Bike Distributor to get some great deals. Either online or locally you can get the correct Youth Dirt Bike. Head online today and get that deal.

Children as young as year or so can enjoy bicycle touring - not in the same way as parents, but they'll have a blast out seeing the country and traveling with Mom and Dad. Of course, young children can't ride their own bikes, but there are number of options to consider:

Trailers: For kids under about age 3, a trailer is the only way to go although children up about age five may be comfortable in the trailer as well. Pay attention to the needs of your child and decide if a trailer will work for him.

Trailers are wonderful in that children can sleep while you are pedaling. While awake, they have the choice of watching the scenery or playing with toys. Plus - you can use extra space in the trailer for additional gear.

Trailer bikes: Starting at age 3 or 4, you may be able to transition your child onto a trailer bike. A trailer bike is a one-wheeled contraption that hooks on to your bike, and has the advantage of allowing your child to help you pedal.

The downside to a trailer bike is the lost efficiency - the connection system simply isn't as rigid as a tandem so you will be wasting a fair amount of energy hauling the trailer bike. Also, if you get a cheaper, one-gear trailer bike, your child will not be able to help pedal up hills.

Tandem: The tandem is the best option for kids old enough to help with the pedaling, but they don't come cheaply. They are much more rigid and efficient than trailer bikes, and have the added advantage in that you are teaching your child proper cadence and traffic safety as he pedals in sync with you.

You can buy a tandem that is quite large for your child and put a "kiddie crank" (child stoker kit) on it to raise the pedals up. That way, as he grows you'll simply lower the pedals until you can remove the kiddie crank altogether. In this way, you can get many years of service from your tandem.

Coupler with child's bike: Another great option is to have your child's single bike with you and connect it to the back of your bike when needed. Using either the Trail Gator or Follow Me coupler, you can hook your child's bike to the back of yours and tow him through tricky situations. When you get to safe areas, you simply unhook it and he can ride on his own.

Bicycle touring with children is a great experience for all involved! Get out there and build some memories now!

There are many trends that are becoming incredibly popular as the years go buy. For the last 5 years, fixed-gear bikes have been developed, built and seen riding around cities all over the world. If you need a reliable mode of transportation, something that can zip you around town, this is the best bike for you to ride. Follow this guide that will allow you to seek out your first fixie.

One important aspect to understand about these bikes is the fact that one size bike is not going to fit everyone. These bikes will be measured in centimeters and the smallest will be about 50cm. Those who are taller than 6 feet will need a fixie that will sit at about 58cm high. Having the right size bike for your height is also a very large safety matter that you need to implement.

If this is a completely new kind of ride for you, you may want to think about your overall safety. Keeping yourself safe while learning how to ride a fixie will require a brake. Brakes can be bought when you order the bike and installing the brake will only take a few minutes. Once you start getting used to riding, you can switch the wheel set and start riding without that brake.

Do not break the bank when you purchase your first foxed-gear bike. In fact you can easily find a used one or even new for as little as $300 to $400. It is important that you take the time to use this bike as a way for you to begin learning your own technique. Your next fixie should be either built by you personally, or custom built over the internet. Saving as much money as you can is going to be important so that you can get other aspects of your bike cover.

To save more money look for a complete bike. Many people like to shop around and pick out different parts for their bike. Some of these pieces can add up and a complete bike will have everything that you will need. Invest in a simple tool set that is designed for fixies so that you can make small repairs or tune-ups when need be.

After you have picked out your bike you should be ready to look into a variety of colors. Even your saddle or bike seat can be customized to be a different color. These fixed-gear bikes have been known to be very colorful coming in colors such as neon yellow, purple and bright orange. A custom painted bike will cost a little bit of extra money so plan ahead for this expense.

Accessories will also cost a lot more money that you might want to plan ahead for. These accessories will include new handlebars, grip tape, pedal clips and even brakes. Handlebars can come in all different shapes and sizes but the bullhorn or the straight bar handlebars seem to be the most popular these days. Choose accessories that will make riding a lot better for you.

It seems like there is no stopping the fixie bike movement. Fixed-gear bikes are constantly being made and produced in order for riders to make a statesmen and ride the roads. If you are looking for a more cost efficient as well as energy efficient mode of transportation then looked to your very own fixie!

After bicycling with your children in a trailer, you may be wondering if your baby is now able to move on to her own trailer bike. The answer to that question is - maybe. Most children are able to ride safely on a trailer bike from about age 3 or 4, but it will depend on your child.

Your child can be part of your team when she rides on a trailer bike (tag-along, trail-a-bike) - a one-wheeled contraption that hooks on to your bike. As long as she is tall enough to reach the pedals, she'll be able to ride safely. She will have her own little bike safely attached to yours.

Please consider all factors of the trailer bike - both advantages and disadvantages:

Advantages:

She is working right alongside you rather than being dead weight. As a team, you will climb hills together and will rejoice when you reach the top.

On the trailer bike, the pedals are independent of yours, which means she can pedal when she wants and rest when she wants.

Disadvantages:

You will have to plan for rain or other inclement weather more carefully. In the trailer, it is easy to protect the child but is much more difficult on the trailer bike.

Just like being lulled to sleep in a car, your child can easily fall asleep on her trailer bike. If you feel a jerking on your bike - stop!

If you have the single gear variety of trailer bike, she won't be able to pedal going up hills. Just like you, she needs gears - but does she know how to use them?

Bicycling with your children will be a wonderful experience for both of you!

Kent Dual Drive Tandem bike has a different look than the other tandem bikes. The silver fades into a gun-metal grey with a few red accents and black grips, seats and tires makes this bicycle very interesting looking with a slight retro accent. Also it has very nice and smooth ride.

The brakes are decent but not disc brake systems, but rather those small "v" brake systems. Tires are great and large enough to have a quiet ride and in fact, were astonishingly easy to manage and navigate. Shifters are in the handle and work just great. You can't get quick turns with this as the bike is long. So you should get the turns a little bit slow and carefully.

The bike has very smooth ride much smoother than expected. Just great. You can reach very good speed but carefully when you turn, you going to have a lot of fun for a couple and low price. Great bike! The brakes and derailleurs work awesomely. The shifts are precise. It is a great family bicycle.

I am very enthusiastic bike rider. I have many miles have ridden on my road bicycle. I had some hesitations about the tandem bike especially for the price. It didn't disappoint me; I got exactly what I expected. The assemblage was easy and the bike performs extremely well. The shifting is a little tough, but acceptable, especially in this price range.

Also purchase of Kent Dual Drive Tandem bike is a good deal. The local bike stores had much more overpriced bicycles. They were as well not as good looking as this bicycle. The bike arrived with the front wheel, seats and the handgrip bars off, so I had to put them together but it didn't take me more than half an hour. Riding this bicycle is not hard at all compared to a normal mountain bicycle. You don't need to paddle it strong for it to run fast enough. The additional person on the back does not seem impact a lot the handling

Kent Dual Drive Tandem is not a special quality or high-priced bike it is lots better quality than most straight bikes being sold-out out there now and ride extremely good over time. However, very delighted with this buy. Very good ride, nice looking, holds up good over time. Indeed if you want to get all benefits of bicycle-built-for-two and still looking for bicycle to beginning you off, you can't go wrong with this one. Wonderful bicycle for the money!

Riding a bike gives us this feeling of dj vu; remembering our childhood days when we were in the community park with our friends, riding a bike, sipping lemonades and endless chat, especially in summertime. Riding a bike can give us this great feeling that we can not sometimes find in our everyday life of school or work. If you want to unwind and smell some fresh air, visit a bike rental Central Park and inquire about their services.

There are several bike rentals around which offer Central Park bike tours. You have an option whether you want to rent the bike by their minimum hour or for the whole day when you like. You can always ask the person in-charge of a particular bike rental Central Park is offering.

New York is one of the best cities in the United States if you want to go sightseeing. And what is more practical and most convenient way to explore the city than bikes?

Using bikes is also environment-friendly and economical compared to the more favored tour bus. If you are staying in New York for a couple of days and wanted that bike with you, arrange the necessary papers and payment in advance and you can also ask the bike rental management to deliver the bike personally at your hotel.

There are also numerous Central Park bike tours that you can avail of. If you are alone in the city and you want to tag along with a group, you can inquire at several bike rental shops if they offer group tours. And if they have, ask for the schedule to make sure that that particular day and time of the tour fits in your schedule.

If you are in a group of not less than 10 persons, they offer promos and discounts for the whole group. You can also request several Central Park bike tours shops for their group rates and compare it so you are sure that you are going to have a good deal.

Also, ask where the tour is heading, what popular landmarks you are going to cover, famous spots and maybe, just maybe, some famous celebrities' houses or apartments. During the Central Park bike tours, ask also about the maximum time that the tour would end to adjust with the necessary schedules that you have.

When checking into the bike rental Central Park shop, bring your camera with you, souvenir photos are always a good thing to look at. And don't forget to bring bottled water, money for snacks, and always wear comfortable biking clothes.

For all you bike lovers out there, bike rental central park is the only choice for you. That's right, central park bike tours will be the funnest thing you ever to, I promise.
