For a cyclist, choosing proper clothing that allows the skin to breath is a wise decision to help minimize chaffing and discomfort associated with sweating. Unfortunately sweating is inevitable, so choosing a material that breaths and provides some antibacterial protection is preferred. While a cyclist can dress appropriately for their body type in regard to perspiration, the weather outside is beyond ones control and must be taken into account when shopping for bicycle clothing. Waterproof and windproof clothing is a must, as is the durability of the material used.
In a cool climates, cyclists choose to wear long sleeve shirts and cycling pants, while during the summer or in warm climates, a short sleeve shirt and bicycle shorts are the preferred attire. No matter what direction you go in terms of clothing pieces, always keep in mind that the clothing must be close to the skin to reduce the wind resistance. Look for clothing that offers all of the above, plus has reflective markings to enhance your safety when out on the road.
